In the pantry – if you have a favourite baking project (for example, you are always baking chocolate chip cookies), keep all your ingredients for that recipe in one basket so you can just pull it out and off you go – no need to search for the sugar!

In the kitchen – purchase vertical dividers for cookie sheets and baking pans so that they aren’t stacked on top of each other. Not only will this keep your from an avalanche of pans when you need one, but now if you want to you can start your baking when others are still asleep!

In the linen closet – instead of stacking sheets of like type (fitted with fitted, pillow cases with other pillow cases), fold sheet sets together. Start with the fitted sheet and pillow cases, then wrap the top sheet around the bundle as a cube. Not only with this look much neater by hiding the messy looking fitted sheets, but it’ll also be much quicker to find a set when you need it.

In the bathroom – use drawer dividers wherever you can in your house, especially in the bathroom, where your morning can be rushed. You want to have everything you need at your fingertips, so keep the divisions category based (hair supplies, medicines, makeup, creams, eye care, etc.). When everything has its place, you can start your day half asleep and still find what you are looking for!

In your email inbox – if you just can’t handle the amount of emails in your inbox, and never seem to find the time to deal with each - this may not sound right – but consider emptying the whole thing! Not only does this feel GREAT, but often, nothing happens as a result. If something important was deleted, the sender will just resend it. If you do wipe it out, or even if you don’t, unsubscribe yourself to all those newsletters you don’t find time to read. You don’t need to feel that guilt of not having the time to read them whenever you visit your inbox. Open each one, and click the “unsubscribe here” link – this is the fastest way to clean up a big portion of your inbox on a go-forward basis. You can always find this information later on their website if you are looking for something specific.

Throughout your home – make conscious decisions about your possessions as you dust or tidy. Do you have things laying around that are broken, serve no purpose, or you just don’t like anymore? Let go of them. Have a donation box on an ongoing basis, and as you put clothes away, look at the back of the closet. Take those clothes you won’t wear anymore and put them in your donation bin. Once it’s full, go drop it off for others to enjoy. If you are constantly doing this, it will be easier to make bigger decisions on bigger projects to let go of some of your clutter.

In the office – when you do your filing, always put the most recent and important documents at the front of the folder. That way, if you are looking to see if you paid your water bill, you just have to pull open the folder, and you will see the latest right there in front.
